In the 90's I rarely got more than, say, 5 'happy b-day' wishes on my b-day. All of them were via phone, card or in person.
This past b-day, I received a lot more happy b-days, almost none were via card or phone. I counted the # of greetings and the method used:
Some interesting points from this data:
- 41% of wishes came via Facebook. This was more than the % from email.
- Got 1 Facebook gift (cost $1.00). Facebook should be nailing this gift thing with Amazon... make it easier for someone to spend 5 minutes chipping in $10 for a sewing machine or whatever. Not that I want anyone to buy me anything.
- I have a lot of time on my hands
- No one sends snail mail cards any more
- I only got 4 in person wishes, meaning that I didn't have a party and wasn't super social (drinks with Will and Jen + dinner at Fringale with Lisa - EXACTLY what I wanted to do!!)
Hopefully Second Life doesn't make an appearance on this list next year.

How about adding one for blog comment? happy belated birthday!

The reason for less calls is that you generally do not answer the phone
