This is our new dog Carla. We got her in January from Rocket Rescue up in North Bay. We think she's a mix of beagle and pit bull, but we really have no idea.
Her favorite things are a rubber chicken and this little frog toy.
We're crate training her, and she has a little caged pen around her crate if she needs to get out and stretch. She loves it.
She loves humans... and dogs not so much. We're ready to socialize her, but we await her parvo immunity to kick in.
She's a handful. We have no use for alarm clocks anymore, because Carla wakes up every morning at 7AM on the dot and is ready to eat immediately. We've got her pretty much house-trained, but she still leaves little surprises for us. And lastly, if she hasn't been walked, she transforms into annoying dog.
Because of all this, we call her the Fookensteen. Lisa and I spend most of our waking hours trying to think of variants of the word "Foo". Over the holidays we started combining "Foo" with the names from the monster cereal series: Count Fookula, Fookenberry and FrankenFoo. The best one ended up being Fookenstein, then my wife softened the EYE in the last syllable to an EE. And there you have it: FOOKENSTEEN!
